The brand creates performance-driven essentials like leggings, bras, bike shorts, and loungewear using recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and fishing nets. Girlfriend Collective is widely recognized for its transparent supply chain, inclusive sizing, and focus on making sustainability approachable, modern, and stylish. Girlfriend Collective was founded in 2016 by Ellie and Quang Dinh, a husband-and-wife team. Quang grew up in Vietnam, and the brand’s early production was intentionally based there to ensure ethical factory conditions, fair wages, and responsible manufacturing in a region often associated with fast fashion labor abuses. Their goal was to prove that sustainable fashion could be both well-made and aesthetically clean without compromising values.
